Plug-and-Play Monitor for Industrial Equipment
A non-invasive monitoring node for factory equipment — vibration, temperature, sound, and energy in one cloud-connected device. End-to-end engineering with ongoing technical advisory.
The challenge
A small industrial-tech team had a clear product hypothesis — a single device that retrofits to any production equipment in minutes and streams machine-health telemetry to a cloud dashboard. What they needed was someone who could own the entire hardware stack: spec, electronics, firmware, mechanics, and the path to manufacturing. And then stay engaged as the product evolved.
What we built
A compact monitoring node that combines a vibration accelerometer, temperature sensor, MEMS microphone for acoustic signature analysis, and current/voltage sensing for energy draw — all on a single custom PCB. The firmware streams a synchronized telemetry feed over Wi-Fi to the customer’s cloud platform; the enclosure attaches non-invasively to equipment housings without rewiring or downtime.
The first revisions were bench-tested, then field-deployed, then iterated based on what the data actually showed. Atallis owned the electronics, firmware, and mechanical design end to end and worked directly with the manufacturing partner on first production runs.
Outcome
A product the team is now selling under both subscription and direct-purchase models. Atallis remains engaged as the technical advisor — design reviews on each new revision, component-supply continuity planning, and ongoing input on roadmap decisions.
